CFM listen umber on the.front of the choke right here is 33 10 -.for free - carburetor and I'm gonna.completely disassemble it so before I.get started with a disassembly this has.a little gas in I'm going to go ahead.and get the fuel rail off and then we'll.get the gas out of it.this is a number one inch and this is a.16 like to feel real off lay it off to.the side 10 correction of number 8 and.then we're going to go ahead and drain.the fuel.[Music].that's just the front bowl we'll have to.do the back on here in a second.take the fuel bowls off number eight.I'm tell you the part it helps that you.can keep everything together front in.the rear.sometimes you have to try that a little.bit to get it to pop loose and there we.go at that part metering block.I guess Knopf.this is what the meters block looks like.right here I'm gonna take the Jets out.here as the Jets this is the power.battle right there so let's go ahead and.take the Jets out.sit those off to the side and you just.use a flat tip by this use a big flat.tip they make a tool for it you don't.really need it and then on this right.here it's one you just unscrew that.power valve and that's what the power.bar looks like disassemble in.this one so we have that that now we.want to take the idol adjustment screws.out they'll simply just unscrew and.there's a little cork gasket in there.before you go to screw this all the way.you leave about three or four threads on.it before it gets to the end and you.slide a little bit of pressure and it.will pull it out and it leaves that.little cork gasket on there and we will.replace that I've got some new parts.coming I'm going to take this other one.out.and on this 4160 carburetor it only has.one meter each block the back of the.block back there so we'll take this.other Idol adjustment screw out pop it.out there it is we'll lay that over.there this thing is completely.disassembled it's ready for cleaning so.we'll lay it over here with the rest of.the stuff that's the fuel rail director.directs the fuel flow that goes into it.we'll lay that over there now we're.going to go ahead and disassemble the.front Bowl the first thing I like to do.is take the Jets out of it and on that.right there we're going to use a 5/8 and.then you just turn it just a little bit.hold that steady take that let's prove.this take that off set it over here.there's a gasket that's normally stuck I.just leave it because a lot of times I.reuse it if it's not tore up you back.that off you got this little nut right.here you lay that over there and then.unscrew this that right there is the jet.it's got two over here on it lay that.over there then we're going to take it.flown out if you look inside here you.can see that there's two screws in here.flat tips I'm going to take a pretty.good flat tip screw those.they're pretty long and it takes a.little while to get them out of there.there are five threads and not only they.find threads but they're long that's.what they look like keep all this stuff.together on this front bowl right here.cuz you're gonna have to put it all back.together so we have that right there.that's what that's going to look like.right there no big deal that took care.of the inside of that we have this right.here this is the sight hole to adjust.your fuel level we'll take that out.because we're gonna clean everything we.want everything out so that we clean all.the passages there's a little metal.gasket right there you don't want to.lose that and that goes on that the.brass screw that goes in there so that.you can adjust that so keep all that.together we'll set that over here well.go ahead take out the fitting on the.fuel rail.this right here is a two-part deal it.has a this right here is a metal or.aluminum gasket that goes on that right.there set that over there you have your.inline a lot of them don't have this.people throw them away and they use an.external filter I like to use both you.keep that right there dump that out.you'll have a little spring and on the.inside there you have you'll have a.gasket that little gasket right there.and that took care of that so now what.we want to do is we're going to take our.gaskets for the fuel bowl screws if they.stuck let's take those off you just pop.them loose and come back up here if they.didn't come off when you took these out.slide it back up on here these are.usually made out of some kind of hard.plastic and just slide them up on there.like so put those over there with the.rest of them that's almost done now we.have this right here the accelerator.pump celebrate a pump as they Philips.just back up these four Phillips screws.there's going to be a diaphragm and a.spring in there and you want to take.that diaphragm keep the all these screws.together remember this is the problem.we're going to keep all the front stuff.together and all the back stuff together.this here this pops off that's what that.looks like on the inside.better over there with the rest of it.there's the diaphragm that just pops.loose that's what the diagram looks like.you've got a spring that you got to have.in there and then you have a little of.the row of what they call a number River.right there that little umbrella this is.a new one so I'm not going to mess it up.but on an old one what you do is you.just take a pair of needle nose pliers.grab hold of it and pull it if you'll.look on the inside right there that's.where it comes up through there right.there when you put the new one in there.you stick it up through there and then.you pull it up until it locks and you.take a pair of channellocks and snip it.we're going to leave that one in there.so this this bowl right here is ready to.be cleaned so I'm going to set that off.to the side well turn its poking around.I'm gonna try to get the fuel out of.this back bowl let's get this up here.drain this back bowl get all that fuel.out.sit down off to the side here there's.the float both schools are shorter in.the back on this one than they are in.the front that's how you tell the.difference set that off to the side.let's go ahead and get get the rest of.these broke loose and we'll get them out.of there before we do I'm going to pick.this up and it'd be a little easier to.take it off once.fuel rail fitting same thing here that's.going to have a gasket just like the.front you got a gasket you got that put.that on there.slide that over there you got the filter.there should be a spring in there.there's the spray I'm going to keep the.spring with that let's get that over.there go ahead and take this off real.quick take this easier when you want to.carve already you can do it any way you.want to there's not a right or a wrong.way to do this is this you're just gonna.take it apart take that off the gasket.stuff on there we're going to back this.out.set that over there set this I want to.show you something on this so how you.back this out is if you look inside this.right here you see how that's all blown.and and how that right there is oblong.if it fits in there perfectly and that's.and that's what moves that screws it in.and out you see these threads right here.that's what brings it up or down and.that's how you adjust your flow so when.we keep all that stuff over there.separate let's go ahead let's go ahead.and get this float Bowl off and then.I'll show you inside here there's a.blocking plate on these 41 sixties they.don't have a rear metering block they.use a blocking plate and there's.different size the number of blocking.plates to allow you can modify and you.get bigger it's just like changing the.Jets and in the front okay these gaskets.come off with those which is good lay.those over there that one come on and.that one come up so all my gaskets come.off float those ready to come off we're.going to take a little screwdriver.probably read every so gently on that.don't tear buff enough okay we've got.that off now if you'll look real quick.you see this backing plate right here.that black back of the plate in order to.get that off you've got to have one of.these that's a funky looking little deal.here I don't know what it's called but.it's like a Torx head and you just take.these off right here.screw those put them over here remember.when keeping all this separate back from.the front.this is a 1997 carburettor this is one.that I've already pre cleaned with the.muriatic acid I had a problem I it run.real good and everything but my fuel.supply system when my engine stand had.some trash in it I got some bad gas down.here at the hop in sack and I got some.debris or something in here anyhow.that's why I'm tearing this thing apart.so I thought I'd make a video logs tear.to the part this right here should pop.loose pop that loose they get them all.out okay that comes off that's the rear.gasket I'm going to lay it over here you.got a plate.you've got a gasket that goes on this.metal plate right here and that and that.metal plate goes on the backside of that.and then it goes on to this gasket right.here so you want to keep all three of.those we're going to clean those up put.new ones on there we have that off let's.go ahead and take this off this right.here goes to the brake vacuum I'm gonna.set it over here with the rest of it now.we're ready to go ahead and separate the.main body if you look on this right here.you got one two three four five six.Phillips screws that's holding this one.so we're gonna take these out and we're.going to set those off to the side a lot.of times when you rebuild one of these.and you go back in you take it apart you.rebuild it you can use it most of the.gaskets again you're just going in there.just to clean it.this is the baseplate that we're taking.off right now the thing about this is.don't don't be scared to take one of.these apart they're really not that big.of a deal once you do it a couple of.times they're actually fairly easy and.almost everyone on this identical so.we're gonna get all this off right here.this is going to separate the base plate.and then we have the vacuum right here.you're going to take a turn needle nose.pliers or a little flat tip whatever.works best in this case there's a seat.clamp right there and we're going to.tuck that seat clamp off there you see.that little bitty clamp right there.don't lose that little sucker tell you.right now do not lose that pull that off.that's going to come off this gives you.your plate right here take this little.rubber cap off that right there goes to.if you run on a distributor with a.vacuum advance so that's the base plate.right there we're going to set the base.plate back on the stand now we're gonna.take this part but before we start.taking the Chokin stuff apart there's.one more thing in here you've got a.needle valve in here and you got.squirters and when it's a Philips that.takes this out and let me show you.something here.make sure you take you lose that right.there and you got some problems I'm just.I'm just telling you that's a little.bitty needle vowel right there.don't lose that little puppy make sure.you take it out in order to get this.clean because if you don't and you.didn't and you don't get that passage.clean you'll always have problems with.your carburetor you have a screw and on.that screw there's a gasket on the.inside there it's a metal one and it's.beveled and the reason it's beveled is.because that's beveled and then you have.a metal one on the bottom down there and.this squirter right here it happens to.be a 28 and we'll talk about the.squirters when I put put this thing.together in the next video so we're.going to set that over there we've got.that out now we're ready to take this.off the only thing that this bar does is.it keeps the choke open I don't I don't.never use a choke but I don't cut those.off because I like them on there so I.put this bar on there so that that.always stays open and all you have to do.is take a screwdriver loosen this up.slide this back and throw it over there.most of them have that unless somebody.like me put it on there now we're going.to take the bracket off then it holds.the choke plate on and you just take.these screws throat screws off.keep these separate from the rest of.them because they are different and.that's what makes this going back.together a lot easier if you have have.all this stuff and a designated spot.when you take it apart.kind of like an assembly line so you're.going to take that right there.and there's going to be a little bitty.clamp in there that we're gonna have to.it's a quarter key basically it's what.it is that you can take it off before.you do this so you can take this off and.then do it it doesn't really matter but.we're gonna take take this off and the.reason I do this so that I can see if I.can get to it but if you look right here.there's there's a little there's a.little bitty Carter key right there and.what we're gonna do is we're gonna pop.that thing off right there it is don't.lose that that goes with that other.don't lose this little clamp and then.this right here.we'll slide out this comes off sets over.there with your chunk keep that with.your choker now we're going to take this.right here which is that actual vacuum.portion of this that opens the back.barrels up and we're going to take these.off take your housing off and in order.to do that you're going to take this.screw set that over with the choke stop.it looks like this one right here they.try to be difficult but what city.are you kidding me.let's take the base gasket off send it.over there.this one right here for some reason has.gold down in here and now they don't.want to come don't want to come off for.some reason you see if I can get a.better Philips you know this just going.to come out somehow so that thing is.gold I've never really had one give me a.problem like this.I'm gonna turn this off with just a.second to get this out and I'll come.back okay well here I owe them back you.can see what happened here the thing was.gold up in there and it broke so now.this thing's gonna have to be drilled.and tapped but I won't do it in this.video I'll do it later.we can go ahead and continue on with the.disassembly that will have to be fixed.and you can see or right here it broke.off in there anyhow I'll drill and tap.that out and then rethread that always.something always something going on the.number eleven right here take this out.take it out lay that over here and then.on this right here the way that you see.if this thing works right here if you'll.look at this you have to have a gasket.on the back and that gasket has to seal.properly because when this thing is.pushed in and you cover that that should.stay like it is right now and when you.let go it should come out that tells you.that this is working properly that goes.down it is creating a vacuum and then.that's covered then I'll let it go and.it comes out but then have that.something you check to see if your.secondary vacuum on your carburettor is.working correctly so we have that out we.have that all apart and then we have the.main body that's as far as I take the.main body down to click this gasket off.right here.we'll lay that over there this is ready.to go on to the solvent tank this is.ready to be clean right here this is the.main body that's what it looks like.underneath that's where the power valve.goes that's the backside where the block.goes that's the inside right there and.you can see the listings on that right.there good you don't really need to do.anything else to this right here this is.ready to go into the solvent tank to be.clean and we'll get that all cleaned up.and get it ready to go back for.reassembly then you have new jets and.everything and that is what we're still.Expo we still need to take this apart.right here let's get this knocked out.real quick go ahead and take this out.[Music].I'll tell you what these old Holley.carburetors when they get old man those.threads to you get buggered up you're.gonna be really careful well lay that.right over there we'll take this out.that's a bit rare Holley float for the.rear if you'll see this right here this.is a little bitty spring in there that's.what gives it a little bit of tension.make sure that you don't take that.spring and lose that spring they're hard.to come by.and then this is the back bow and we'll.take the bowl adjustment screw out and.it also has that gasket made out of.metal on it and you want to keep that.right there separate so we've got that.all done so that's a problem.disassembled on this right here so this.thing's ready to go into the cleanup.once I get it all cleaned up and.everything I'm gonna make it another.video and putting this thing together if.you
