[Music].hello today we're going to install a new.ever built jet well pump and replace an.old one.this is relatively an easy installation.and we're going to lead you through.every step of the way there's also a use.and care manual that's included with a.pump as a reference if you need.additional support we have an 800 number.that you can call for professional.service this video is for a shallow well.system up to 25 feet if you have a deep.well system the 25 foot to 70 feet you.want to go to the deep well video refer.to the list at the end of this video for.additional materials and tools needed.for the installation you'll see that.your convertible jet pump is pre-wired.at 230 volts and but this pump can also.be wired for 115 so as as you understand.which will vote each you're going to.need to change the voltage to 115 we.simply take this top cover off.and we remove it there's a selector.switch which you can see is already set.to 230 volt single-phase to convert this.to 115 volt simply slide the switch.you'll see it now says 115 volt we can.replace the cover and this pump is now.operational for 115 volt you will notice.that the comfortable jet pump comes.preset to be installed for a shallow.well this means the ejector is in the.pump and the pump will be pulling water.from the well now before we begin make.sure you have carefully read the safety.information in your installation manual.and follow all the warnings if you.completed these steps now let's get.started before we install your new pump.we have to remove the old pump so.basically the first thing you want to.make sure you do is you're following all.local and state codes related to the.installation the next step is shutting.all the power off to the pump so make.sure that you shut off the home.disconnect or if you have a breaker shut.the breaker off to the products the next.point is to make sure that you.disconnecting all the water shut the.water off so you don't want any incoming.water going out of the pump once you've.done all that now we're ready to start.removing the old pump first thing is to.relieve the pressure so simply take an.adjustable wrench and we're going to.take this loose and that should relieve.the pressure in the policy the next.portion is to drain the pump because.there's water inside here so we're going.to take this this is a drain plug here.we're going to take that loose and then.thread it now you'll want to make sure.you have a cup or something to catch the.water that's going to come out of the.house.what you've removed that the water.should drain out nicely then after you.done that you can go ahead put the plug.back in just to keep any residual water.from getting all over you so now we're.ready to actually start removing the.piping this is the incoming line from.the shallow well and we're simply going.to remove this coupling this is a pipe.wrench turn it to get it adjusted so.that we get the nut and you should be.able to remove the pipe takes a little.bit of pressure but should be able to.remove the pipe out the next portion is.to come here and we're going to remove.the piping that's going to the incoming.line to the tank so again using the pipe.wrench.[Music].should be other Lu that and now the pump.has been released from the incoming and.the outgoing lines now that we.disconnected the piping we have one last.step and that's to remove the pressure.switch and the electric wires to the.pressure switch so we're gonna simply.take this nut loose and that's your.thread and we have two wires that'll.come in that's your incoming power along.with the ground just simply remove those.wires from those screws once we've done.that now you can take the old pump out.and it's time to start working on the.new pump this is a simulation of a pipe.for the shallow jet well now this pipe.could be as far down into the ground.it's 25 feet but I wanted to show you.one important feature - the shallow oil.system and that is the foot valve so.imagine this could be in a long column.of pipe and the foot valve what it does.is it actually holds the water in the.column of the piping and that helps you.to keep the pump Prime so for any reason.that you're not able to prime the pump.we'll probably need to replace this foot.valve this could be located outside of.the hole it could be in the home.depending on where this pipe is going.into the ground once we replace the foot.valve you want to make sure you're also.checking the pipe to see any rust or.calcium buildup if you see anything like.that you might have to replace the.entire pipe once you put the foot valve.on and you put the piping back in there.is a crowding plug but you'll want to.remove and you'll want to fill this.column completely full with water and.that will help the priming process now.we're ready to install a pond so to be.able to do this we went ahead and use.the existing piping as a guide to be.able to put it on the new pump and so.this allowed us to come up with a melody.after that we needed a check valve and.to actually keep the water in the pump.housing and into the piping and then a.connection to the.incoming line we also created a a.pressure outlet line valve that we're.going to basically screw into the pump.and this wall so it's a pill place so we.can make sure that we prom the pump so.do this first thing I do is have some.tap on tape and the teflon tape here.everything else has already been glued.you want to make sure you get this good.and tight to prevent any leakage of air.into the system let air into the system.the pump is going to possibly Prime and.will also lose the pressure that you.want tighten that nice tight and torque.then we're going to go ahead and put the.outgoing line which is at the top of the.pump using the teflon tape.[Music].we're going to thread that right into.the top turn it as tight as we can so.that we can try to match up the piping.torque it good there we go.now we're ready to install the pipe to.the existing piping there make sure it.matches up.[Music].and then we have our incoming line and.if we did the measurements right and we.did it fits good and snug so all the.pipes are here don't go ahead and.tighten everything down make sure that.we have a good tight fitting so.everything is good and tight we have all.of our fittings in place we're ready to.prime the pump so what we're going to do.is we're going to put water in here so.you basically take a funnel and take a.bucket of water and you're going to pour.it into the pump housing you want to.make sure it's completely filled and you.should get some bubbles at first but.eventually the air will come out of the.pump housing and you want to make sure.the water comes all the way up to the.prong plug once you've done that take.your prompt plug put it in and make sure.it's good and tight the next step is we.want to make sure we hook up our.electrical to do this you simply remove.this cap here and so this is nice bones.the inside of the pressure switch I went.ahead and pre installed the grommet the.grommets gonna snap in here but first we.want to make sure we hook up the ground.wire and the ground where is gonna hook.right into the ground pin at the bottom.and screw that in good and tight.then you have two wires here from the.electrical house that will screw in and.the second wire now we'll complete our.connections on the electrical side and.always remember to check your electrical.code for state and local requirements.and seek electrician help if needed now.we're going to simply put the grommet in.to make sure we have a good tight seal.we don't want anything getting inside.there.and we install the cap and the pump is.now ready for electricity and everything.sealed up nice and tight it's ready to.go so we disconnected earlier we.disconnected electric the electrics.should be on we need to turn our.electric back on and then we also need.to make sure that we've opened up all.the vowels that we shut off earlier in.the video once we've done this we're.ready to try to turn the pump on so make.sure we have a good prom and one way to.make sure you get all the air out of the.system is to take a faucet open up about.a quarter of a turn so that air will be.able to evacuate the system as a punch.whether you're ready to turn this Popoff.thank you for watching this installation.video and if you focus us properly.congratulations you are up and running.for additional information you can.reference your use and care manual that.was provided with the product.[Music].[Music].[Music].you.you.
