hi and in today's microsoft word.tutorial i'm going to show you how to.create a very quick fillable form save.it as a pdf.create the fillable fields in adobe.acrobat.and then save it out for your users to.fill in so let's get started.okay so i've just opened a default.document here and all i'm going to do is.create a very.simple fillable form if you want.something a little bit more complicated.then i have done a video on that and i.will link it in the description below.so just firstly just pop a title in.if you want to skip this bit please feel.free but just to give you an idea how.the form is set up.now before i click and drag my table i'm.just going to go.up to the home tab and down to the font.area.now whether you've used adobe acrobat or.not.not all the fonts in adobe acrobat are.also.in word so if you want your fillable.form.to have the same font throughout you're.going to have to just cross.check the different fonts so i know at.the moment.that the very classic times new roman.is in adobe acrobat so i'm just going to.select that.font and just make sure you know what.your font size is as well because again.in.acrobat you need to select the correct.font size if you want to.ensure that they're the same if you.don't you want to make it a little bit.bigger or smaller just for the.titles that's absolutely fine once.you've made all those selections go up.to the insert tab.and just click table click on the drop.down.and i'm just going to select a couple of.rows.once i'm done that i'm just going to.insert my information.once i've selected all of my information.i just want to sort out these cells here.i just want to merge them.so i'm just going to highlight these two.cells i'm going up to.layout then along to merge cells and.just click.again do it to the next two.these two and just at the bottom here.now currently all of my text is quite.close together so i just want to.increase the.height of these cells so if i just.select my table by clicking the top.left square or just click and drag.go up to the layout tab again and go to.height.i'm just going to click on the up arrow.here.until my table adjusts to where i want.it.once i'm happy and i want to adjust the.the alignment of the text.just go to this section here so for this.demonstration i'm just going to put.everything over to.center right then once i'm happy with.that.i'm just going to go up and take out.these border lines.highlight these cells again go up to.table design along to borders.click on the drop down and select no.borders.but before you click off we need the.border going in here.so just click on the drop down and.select right.border once you've done that.then you've got your fillable table.now once you've done that i'm just going.to move this line over.so that all this information is over to.the.left okay.once you're happy with your form we're.then going to save it as a pdf.so it will go to the file.save as i'm going to save it.as a test pdf i'm going to save it onto.my desktop.i'm going to go down here and save as a.pdf.i've selected best for electronic.distribution and accessibility.once you've done that just click export.and now just close down word and then.i'll just go along and open up my test.pdf and this is how it will appear.in your adobe acrobat.now what we need to do is to go down to.this section here called prepare.form if it doesn't appear go to more.tools.along to forms and signatures and to.prepare form once you've done that.go back to your document by clicking up.here on the tab.and then go down to prepare form now.this section will appear.and what this now does in adobe acrobat.is it looks at the document you're.importing and.anywhere that it can identify where.there might be a form field.needed it will put one in for you.so it's quite clever so all we're going.to do you can change it if you want to.so click on change and you can switch it.off so if you click on change.and then you can go down to off here and.click ok i'm just going to click cancel.but we're just going to press start now.at the moment it's only managed to.identify.one area which it thinks needs a form.field.that's absolutely fine because we can.insert them with no problem at all.all i need to do is to go up to this.section here where you'll find all the.tools that you'll need to create all the.form.fields that you may want in your pdf.i'm going to go along to this icon here.which is just to add a text field.if you just click on it and as you move.your mouse.around your pdf file this blue box will.follow you around.once you're happy just click and drag.you don't necessarily.have to drag it out to the entire cell.but you can if you want and then i'm.just going to rename this.name and then just check off that.and again you can do exactly the same.create another field.this time we'll call it address.and click off that now you can.highlight them module control c.and copy go down to the next area.command or control.v and just paste that one down.and just pop it in there it will have.the same.address in it but we can go and change.that in a second so once you're happy.with those.just click and drag so you highlight all.three fields.and then you can go up to this alignment.element over here.if you want them all aligned to the left.or the right.or the center you can go ahead and do.that if we line them all to the left.then they'll all line up nicely here to.customize.these cells then all you need to do is.to click.and then right click and go down to.properties.here this dialog box will appear which.is where you can fully customize all of.these fields.now as you can see we've got address in.this one because we copied and pasted it.so we just got to address and put in.date.and then we can go along to appearance.and this refers to the box itself so i.don't want a border or a fill color in.my boxes so i'll leave that blank.but here's where we can go ahead and.sort out our font so i'm going to go.down to this one.and i'm going to go to times roman.and hopefully that will correlate with.my font that's already in there from.word.i know that my font size was 12 as well.so i'm going to leave that.here in the position you can adjust the.different position of your text boxes.and in the options here you can adjust.the alignment of the text that's typed.in.by the user so if you want your user to.type and the text to appear in the.center.or the right you can do but here it's.selected to the left.and then just click close now once.you're happy with these.you can go ahead and quickly preview it.and this is how the form will be.received by your user and as you can see.you can just.click and pop in the name okay so we'll.just take that out.and go back to edit now a lot of people.don't like.these blue shaded areas that you get.as a result of exporting your fillable.form.if you want to take these blue areas out.they don't print.and when you view it as a preview they.also don't show.but if you don't like them go up to.the adobe pro dc menu bar.and go down to preferences when you go.down to preferences this dialog box will.appear.if you go down to highlight color and.just check.off show border hover color for fields.and just uncheck that and click ok you.can see that the blue now disappears and.then when you go to preview.the blue has gone but you can still fill.in those fields.so now we just want to insert a checkbox.so go up to this icon here.and again hover and the checkbox will.appear.again you can rename this but you don't.have to.and then click over here and again just.click on that checkbox hover.and click.so to just make sure that these boxes.are equally lined up.again just click and drag.go up to the alignment and you can align.to center.so they're completely centered and then.just.click off okay so once you're happy with.your fillable form.and again you can preview this if you.just click you can see.that the ticks come up in the check.boxes.once you're happy then go up to file.save as other go down to.reader extended pdf and down to.enable more tools including form fill in.and save and just click.just click save now and then again.just rename this for your files.and just click save so if we just close.this down.so if your user didn't have adobe it.would be fine this is how they would.receive the form.they could go ahead and fill that in and.then they would just go to.file save.and then this is the form that you would.receive back because of course yours.would open up.in adobe if somebody else was to open it.up.in
