How to leverage The Last Will And Testament Template For Married Couple?

hey everybody I'm Paul rappley and inthis video I'm gonna show you howsomebody can make a valid will veryquickly so I'm Paul Rabelais I'm anestate planning attorney and really alittle project here and and we'll seehow this goes but I've been doing thisfor 30 years and of course there's aschool of people that say you shouldnever ever ever ever ever write a willwithout getting an attorney and hiringthe law firms and all of that and thenlike it or not there's a group on theother end that say you know what I'mgonna do this by myself I'm gonna figureout how to follow the rules I'm gonnamake my own now where you stand on onthat scale that's that's up to you maybeyou can describe in the comments belowbut I just want to show you how how Iwill can be made valid will can be madevery very quickly some people stress andprocrastinate and they don't sleep andthey worry they go on a trip theyhaven't written their will they're aboutto go on the highway for a you know 1010 hour trip and they haven't writtentheir will they're nervous and it causesa lot of stress so this is a littleexercise but kind of fun and let's saywe've got a second set of circumstanceswhere a husband I'm gonna calling willwill Ryder is his name but he loves hiswife they have two kids together and hejust wants to leave everything to hiswife to make it easy for her and yes hehe knows that she's not gonna doanything stupid and she's gonna leave itto the kids so he's just okay leavingownership of his estate to his wife andthen you know his wife will perhapsultimately leave everything to the kidshe's not worried about if she remarriesshe might leave it to her next husbandjust one of those real simplecircumstances traditional marriageleave it to my wife she can leave it tothe kids at truster so the kids areadults and so no minor you know no minorchildren issues they're the the key thatallows me to make this very very quicklyor really allows anybody to make it veryvery quickly is that in my stateLouisiana Ola graphic wills arepermitted Ola graphic as a mouthmouthful in written wills arepermissible and there are other statesthat allow for Ola graphic orhandwritten wills they're just as validas the typed up notarized ones as longas you follow the formality rulesalright so what I'm gonna do now is I'mgonna write my will and we're gonna keeptrack of you know how long it takes forme to write that will and you'll see howquickly a valid will can be made inLouisiana and again it's William willRyder he wants to leave everything tohis to his wife now his wife might diebefore him so he also wants to providethat if his wife dies before him thateverything goes equally to his twochildren William will Ryder jr. andWilhemina will writer but will Amenasthe responsible one so he would wantWilhemina to be the executor if he diesand his wife has pre deceased himso a few other issues I'll address inhere but let's jump right in I'm gonnastand up to do this I apologize my my mywife and I our five kids all moved outwe bought a little bit smaller home wehaven't even hung the pictures I don'teven have any paper in my home withlines on it so I just pulled out acomputer printer paper and I'm gonna doit on this so I'm gonna stand up to doit but we'll keep track of how long ittakes me make sure you can see it yeahhere we go okay so first I'm gonna do isI'm gonna write the date which isNovember 1 2019 I William will writeragain I don't want to use my namebecause I don't wanna mess up any of thepersonal stuff I've done declare this tobe my last will and testament Iexpressly revoke all prior wills andcodicils cuttle soul isn't a mimeticokay so that's the first paragraph now1here's the big big one here I leave all1my property to1let's call her Wilma that's my wife will1Ryder and then I'm going to say if Wilma1will writer pre deceases me I mean she1dies before me I leave all my property1to William will writer junior and1Wilhemina will writer comma in equal1portions okay we're making some headway1here now since so many people wonder1about what would happen if a child died1before them let's address it if a child1pre deceases me I leave their share to1their children in equal portions so just1in case a child dies before you and they1have some kids you want to make sure1your child's children get their share1and here we go we're wrapping up here I1named Wilma my wife Wilma will Ryder as1executor of my succession every will1should name an executor if Wilma will1writer1cannot serve I named Wilhemina for which1my kids didn't have such long long names1Wilhemina will Ryder as executor last1sentence my executor may act as an1independent executor and shall serve1without bond and now I gotta sign it at1the end William will writer1what a beautiful signature okay there1you have it1so that is a valid will in our state1which allows for Ola graphic wills and1get back where you can see me so that1does it that didn't take too long I'm1gonna figure out how long that took and1put it in title and so that should give1you a you know an idea of what's1involved in making your own will now my1hope is that people don't watch this see1this think that their particular1circumstances applies exactly to what I1just did and they try to copy exactly1what I just did the you know it's pretty1easy to make a valid will at least in1our state it is and the key though is is1the wording and everybody circumstances1get a little unique so I'm hoping that1somebody just doesn't say well that's1what ever he will should say if that's1that's what William will writer did and1he was married and had two kids that's1what I'm gonna do because I'm married1and have four kids so but everybody's1circumstances a little bit unique and1then this does1address all of the power of attorney1staff and other kind of typical estate1planning legal documents but so many1people stress about not having a will1that just wanted to show you how quick1and easy it would be now the question of1the day is many many people who engage1in the state planning they got to get1lawyers because their circumstances are1challenging enough where there's no way1they could do it themselves they may1have special needs children they may1have forced heirs they may want to be1very very particular about certain1things they leave to somebody they may1want to make sure they address all the1tax consequences or they may want to1address protecting what they have from1lawsuits or nursing homes or other1things so this doesn't necessarily1address some of those circumstances that1are unique and in some cases complex but1this does address some people's1circumstances particularly when it's1relatively simple and particularly when1people aren't uber wealthy and and they1don't want or they can't and some people1just refuse to go hire law firms spend1thousands of dollars to you know1structure their a state legal plan when1sometimes they can go online and change1the beneficiaries of their 401k and it1doesn't cost them anything and that's1where most of their money is it doesn't1make sense to some people so the1question of the day is you know if I1were to create a platform an extensive1platform with all of the appropriate1kind of forms for simple scenario single1people married couples adult children1minor children and have good instruction1both written instruction and video1instructions so that you could do the1simple stuff on your own without having2to go hire lawyers and law firms and pay2thousands of dollars would that be2something you'd be interested in taking2a look at because quite frankly I think2that that at least in my state it's it's2something that the public needs and as2long as they understand the role of it2and understand what they need to do to2make2sure their circumstances are addressed2properly I'd like to hear about that2from you so so feel free in the comments2below just give give me your comments on2whether you know a platform a website2with video written forms PDFs where you2could address your own circumstances2without having to do all the difficulty2lawyer office stuff whether that be2something that be of interest to ya and2and what would you be looking for and2something like that because we're in the2process of formulating how that could be2built out it's not be for everybody but2it's for those people the who for2example yesterday a financial advisor2who have served many of his clients said2Paul not used to this but I got a client2and and he's got his house it's worth2about a hundred and twenty thousand2dollars and he's got an account with me2it's worth like seventy thousand dollars2he just wants to leave that to his three2kids what should he do and he didn't he2didn't want or maybe even need to spend2several thousand dollars you know2setting up a formal legal program but he2had enough where he wanted to make sure2it would go to his kids so anyway2comment would this be something that be2of interest to you showed you how easy2it is to make a valid will particularly2in those states that allow for Ola2graphic wills you'll have a great day

What happens to all of the paper forms you fill out for immigration and customs?

Years ago I worked at document management company. There is cool software that can automate aspects of hand-written forms. We had an airport as a customer - they scanned plenty and (as I said before) this was several years ago... On your airport customs forms, the "boxes" that you 'need' to write on - are basically invisible to the scanner - but are used because then us humans will tend to write neater and clearer which make sit easier to recognize with a computer. Any characters with less than X% accuracy based on a recognition engine are flagged and shown as an image zoomed into the particular character so a human operator can then say "that is an "A". This way, you can rapidly go through most forms and output it to say - an SQL database, complete with link to original image of the form you filled in. If you see "black boxes" at three corners of the document - it is likely set up for scanning (they help to identify and orient the page digitally). If there is a unique barcode on the document somewhere I would theorize there is an even higher likelihood of it being scanned - the document is of enough value to be printed individually which costs more, which means it is likely going to be used on the capture side. (I've noticed in the past in Bahamas and some other Caribbean islands they use these sorts of capture mechanisms, but they have far fewer people entering than the US does everyday) The real answer is: it depends. Depending on each country and its policies and procedures. Generally I would be surprised if they scanned and held onto the paper. In the US, they proably file those for a set period of time then destroy them, perhaps mining them for some data about travellers. In the end, I suspect the "paper-to-data capture" likelihood of customs forms ranges somewhere on a spectrum like this: Third world Customs Guy has paper to show he did his job, paper gets thrown out at end of shift. ------> We keep all the papers! everything is scanned as you pass by customs and unique barcodes identify which flight/gate/area the form was handed out at, so we co-ordinate with cameras in the airport and have captured your image. We also know exactly how much vodka you brought into the country. :)

What happens if there are multiple wills?

This is a very good question, and there is no simple answer. In fact, an entire literature exists on equilibrium selection . Sometimes, formal theorists will apply equilibrium refinements that depend on context. For example, if every single voter in the country votes for Trump this november, that would technically be a Nash equilibrium— because no single voter could change the outcome by changing her strategy. Thus, models of elections typically rule out weakly dominated strategies . A similar refinement is the trembling hand perfect equilibrium , which essentially assumes that every player has a Continue Reading

Do military members have to pay any fee for leave or fiancee forms?

First off there are no fees for leaves or requests for leave in any branch of the United States military. Second there is no such thing as a fiancée form in the U.S. military. There is however a form for applying for a fiancée visa (K-1 Visa)that is available from the Immigration and Customs Service (Fiancé(e) Visas ) which would be processed by the U.S. State Department at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy overseas. However these fiancée visas are for foreigners wishing to enter the United States for the purpose of marriage and are valid for 90 days. They have nothing to do with the military and are Continue Reading
