Get Your Aimpoint 25 Yard Zero Target Form Signed In One Minute

welcome back tactical rifleman this week.we're going to talk about how to zero.the aim point on your on your rifle.alright now step one decide hey do you.want it fifty 25 meters zero doesn't.matter pros and cons of each a matter of.fact if you want to hear our opinions.we've got another video on tactical.rifleman on just that the 25 versus 50.meters zero so let's say we're going to.do a 50 meter zero we're here set up on.the line Keith's got his site already.mounted on the gun now on that I want to.know make sure your aim point is.properly mounted okay it actually sits.inside of a ring and we've seen them.backwards on the guns that's kind of.obvious but one thing a lot of guys.don't catch and I don't know if you can.catch this on the camera but this scope.is candid a couple degrees in the mouth.alright this was taken off of a.student's gun and it is actually candid.a couple of degrees it's red dot sight.that's really matter yeah it matters.when you're making corrections to the.sight because instead of it moving.straight up or straight left it's going.to move up at an angle pain-in-the-ass.to zero so make sure you zero your sight.correct next thing you want to do is you.want to dim that dot on that target so.that you can just barely see it it's.going to give you a finer point and go.ahead dim your dot Keith so you just.barely see it right now he's ready to.shoot that first set of bullets but if.let's say you just zeroed your iron.sights alright if you just zeroed your.iron sights there's a technique called.Co witnessing what you can do is.actually look through your iron sights.line them up on the target and then you.can actually dial your red dot to those.iron sights that's going to get you on.the paper it is it your zero will be.very very close doing that like keith.has already done that we're all set up.so I'm going to have him fire that.first that first shot group before he.does that I want to point out he has a.very stable firing position.some people prefer to fire with that.hand up on the front of the gun go ahead.show it Keith all right that's fine make.sure you've got those good points of.contact hands up underneath but his.elbows are still set on the ground we.personally we prefer what's called a.sniper hold where he'll run that support.hand back on to that bicep he still has.good point of contact up here on the.rest which can be a sandbag or in this.case a good solid rubber block but it'll.he still has good support both elbows on.the ground and with that hand back on.the bicep he can raise and lower that.hand keeps it set properly in the.shoulder and it will keep it keep it.allow him to make real fine adjustments.for raising lowering that sight picture.all right so once you've got a good.stable position we're going to have.Keith go ahead and fire a three to five.round group all right now we're going to.go downrange and we're going to check.that target out all right so come down.we're gonna look at Keith's target I'm.pretty good shot group not bad I always.like to circle my bullet holes that way.when we start shooting more I can tell.which ones already been shot and then I.close the group and I number it all.right now on this particular thing we.remember we're using red dot sights that.have a half MOA adjustment you can use.your regular m16 zero target you can use.a piece of paper with just a couple of.pasties on it but this is a particular.target this one's they have them for 50.and 25 yard zeros this one's made by.armored dynamics you can get them at.armoreddynamics.com you can also go to ARrifle.com.a bunch of different websites.you can download printable targets when.you do it make sure you download ones.that print to scale that are actually.designed for a proper printer paper.cheap no need to buy nothing fancy but.the cool part about using this one is it.actually has the correct numbers down.the side for our half MOA adjustment.sights so right we see a shot group.we're going to move this point of impact.left 10 roughly and then we're going to.move it up that roughly up roughly 10.again so we're going to go up ten and.we're going to go left ten all right we.got it we know what a correction needs.to be now we're going to go back and go.dial them into the sights all right so.we've gone downrange we check the target.we know what adjustments we need to make.adjustments on the aim point easy pull.your caps off windage knob.I'm sorry elevation knob windage knob on.the side now they've got big screw flat.screwdriver heads on them you can use.they say you can use the casing from.from a bullet a lot easier if you use a.regular screwdriver you know or.just bring a dedicated screwdriver make.the adjustments now the adjustments for.aim point per the manual is three.millimeters for 25 meters zero per click.and six millimeters for 50 meters zero.per click genset basically works out to.an eighth of an inch at 25 meters and a.quarter of an inch at 50 meters you're.looking at a half a half MOA basically.what you're looking at so I've got the.corrections I need to make on his.they've got nice pretty arrows on them.turn it in the appropriate direction.I'm sorry Keith.all right now all we're going to do is.we are going to repeat those same steps.you can fire three shot group will go.down checkmark the target again and.we'll repeat that process till we have.them zero alright so we just made the.adjustments to Keith's rifle.we had them send a next shot group if.you take your time you do correct.adjustments you're going to have a gun.that's correctly zeroed.doesn't take a lot of rounds people I.great shooting by Keith this weapon.zeroed you can kind of tell the guy's.been to a couple of sniper schools and.you can tell he was a sniper as a green.beret for quite a few years good.shooting.but uh how about if you don't know.exactly what the adjustments are on that.site all right you might have an.off-brand.red dot sight let's talk about that next.all right so let's say you've got an.off-brand red dot sight you're not sure.what the adjustments are you know.they're not written on the dials let's.say it don't freak out and go digging.all over the internet trying to find and.download some manual just you're going.to run it the same way just after you.shoot that first shot group you know you.need to move it away just this time make.bold corrections instead of going a.little bit at a time what we did was we.went ten clicks right ten clicks down.clink ten clicks left and alright we.went too far but at least now we have a.set unit of measure okay I own if that's.ten clicks cut it in half again all.right but so that's ten clicks down ten.clicks over all I'm going to do again is.cut it in half and y'all probably over.here but you see the method of the.madness if you don't know what your.correct what the individual correction.notches are clicks per whatever it.doesn't matter if you run it the same.way no matter what brand these red dot.sights are alright so we've made our.adjustments we had them confirm it he's.right in the center of the target we got.exactly where we want him to be now we gotta remember.this is 50 meters zero what we're.shooting this is to represent that 200.meter zero downrange so we now need to.go out to that 200 meter range and.confirm this if we get out there we.start banging left to right and we make.fine adjustments and now we'll be fine.this guy's is basically how you set up.and zero in Point scope if you got any.questions or comments be sure to leave.them below thanks for watching.

What is the POI of an M1 rifle at 25 yards for a 100 yard zero?

Maybe an inch high or so. Every ammunition manufacturer prints ballistic tables for every load they make. Most are based on a 100 yd zero. Basically if you're shooting at anything bigger than a squirrel it won't matter. 30–06 is a bit too much rifle for squirrels. I did shoot one with a Mosin Nagant at about 40yds. The sun was going down on the last day of deer season. Easiest one I ever cleaned, I just split the pelvic bone and then peeled him and he was ready to cook. Correction I just looked up Remington says a 180 grain core lokt at 50 yds hits .1 inch low at 50yds , still less than an a q Continue Reading

Is it true that if my rifle is zeroed for, let's say, 100 yards and I'm shooting a target at 50 yards, I'm supposed to aim below where I'm trying to hit?

Your bullet travels in an arc. Your line of sight is straight. Your bullet will cross Your line of sight twice. Once when it is going up and again when it is acted upon by gravity to bring it back down. Because Your scope is higher than the bore of the rifle You may have to sight Your bullet in below the time it first crosses Your line of sight. It really depends on how far Your scope is above the bore. How far You are sighting in for and how fast the bullet is traveling. Here’s something that will bake Your noodle. If You fired a bullet exactly parallel to the ground and dropped a bullet iden Continue Reading

For how many yards out does the military zero their weapons?

27.3403 yards. 25 meters. This is the point that the round travels at the same elevation as the 250 meter or 273.403 yard mark. What this does is allow for engagement for all targets throughout the range.

If I'm shooting slugs out of my Remington 870 12g at a stationary deer 25/50 yards out how much should I have to compensate in order to hit on target?

None. Most slugs are made to be zeroed at 50 yards. The impact difference at 25 yards is 1/4 and inch or less so there is no need for any difference in aiming the sheer trama near a vital alone will kill it.

How will it be if every student in an exam is awarded some minimum marks like some 20 out of 100 instead of zero? Will it be encouraging for them to perform well next time?

There is a system of grace marks required for passing the subject suppose if a student is failing by 5 marks then it is given to ensure students get passed. If student has attempted the paper and written something if not complete blank then some minimum marks can be awarded to ensure there is some motivation. For improvement zero would be a demotivating factor especially if student has failed. You can highlight the areas of improvement for better preparation for student. All the best !!!

Can you sight in a rifle at 25 yards?

Depending on the rifle and ammo. A rifle set at zero at 25 yards will need to be pointed a bit lower to zero a 100 yard target. I've heard the myth of 25 zero is 100 zero but it doesn't work out like that. 25-yard zero will put your bullet around 1 to 3 inches high at 100 yards depending on caliber and barrel and where your sights are in relative to the barrel. Just remember caliber and barrel length and weather conditions, and sights, all affect where zero will be at different range grids.

How much does a 308 drop at 200 yards?

It depends on many factors. It’s best to use a ballistic calculator to figure your drop for the ammunition you’re going to be using. Attached is a picture showing some Winchester loads at 200 yards with a 50 yard site in range. Notice max bullet drop is 3″.
