we're gonna install a a check valve.to keep that cylinder from drifting and.I'll go over how all that goes so coming.back to the back of the tractor and you.can see that I got the wheel off already.and to give myself a little bit more.room and this side link adjustment here.is what we're going to replace and put.that cylinder on so with the hydraulic.cylinder in this place from the sea.we'll be able to tilt the implement left.and right I guess if you will if you're.standing behind it comes in extremely.useful when you're using a bak play a.box blade excuse me to crown a driveway.or you're using a drill augur to keep it.perfectly vertical and you're working on.a hillside or not to adjust bottom plow.so we are going to run the plumbing.through this section of the tractor here.gonna run underneath the floorboard and.connect it here to the third function.valve so we'll be able to connect it and.disconnect it as we'll so we can adjust.everything using the joystick now I.don't know if a lot of people remember.or don't remember or think about you.know that this valve here has a little.bit more function than just running the.grapple so you can use this valve to.control another cylinder and that's.exactly what we're going to do we're.going to use it to control that tilt.cylinder so once we run the lines under.the floorboard we're gonna bring them up.that's why I made that brace on the.front end loader to hold the extra lines.while I don't flop around and then we'll.just go ahead and use this button here.to to adjust the cylinder back and forth.as necessary so.on the other side of the tractor is.where I'll get a better angle to show.you this will be low light so it's gonna.take a second to get focused right where.that hole is all right that's a hole.that the manufacturer put into the into.the fender we're going to go right over.that hole there or right to the side of.it with the check valve and we're gonna.mount it and then the hoses are going to.branch off of that forward and backwards.so that's really going to be the start.of where we're gonna go so I'm gonna go.back over the bench in a second we're.going to talk about the check valve and.we're gonna make everything up on the.bench and then bolt it up here and do.the final connections this is really.going to be a pretty quick job so hold.on we'll be right back.okay folks over here on the bench I have.a check valve I got it from Summit.hydraulics.it's ported for half-inch got 11 gallon.per minute flow rate and that's pretty.much performance matched to the tractor.on my cylinder not over here there's no.check valve mounted in here and that's.because I couldn't find a tilt cylinder.for the L 2501 that had a check valve.attached to it and check valves real.important to have I think in my opinion.on a top and tilt kit for both cylinders.because it keeps them from drifting.while you're using them so these two.bolts are the mounting bolts and we're.gonna mount it kind of like in this.configuration here it'll be mounted.right up against the fender in that.configuration the hoses are gonna attach.where these caps are on both sides and.the caps that are closer together this.is the valve side so we're going to.attach this to the valve and the ones.that are farther apart are the cylinder.side so we'll end up running those to.the cylinder like I said just a few.seconds ago I'm gonna make this all up.on the bench with the hoses so that all.I have to do is set it in bolt it up and.then I can work on getting the hose ends.together so I'm gonna make this up and.we'll be right back all right we're back.to the check valve and before I go ahead.and make these hoses up on it.tighten them all down I want to get.these holes drilled in the fender that's.kind of a critical measurement and I.don't really have a whole lot of room to.swing the drill around so we're going to.do is I'm gonna take a piece of painters.tape and I'm gonna put it on there and.just kind of make a template that'll.self stick so I can drill holes I'll.take this rod that I have and just push.it down there and and now I've got a.template that I can attach to the steel.fender and drill through that fender so.that the mounting holes are perfect and.this will slide into place there is not.a lot of room to work in there so.getting as much done up here on the.bench as I can is really gonna be.helpful and getting this done so now.that I got this done let me go attach it.to the fender and get the holes drilled.okay so as you can see I put the piece.of tape on there I drilled those holes.through I put just a slight can't this.way which will kind of help me keep from.putting a real tight radius in the.hydraulic hoses so we're going to go.ahead and get that check valve made up.on the bench and then bolt it to the.other side of this fender on the inside.so you can see how that tape template.here works pretty good at drill in those.holes we'll be back in a second all.right I've talked about this in other.videos and before I start making.everything up this is a teflon paste and.this is the teflon paste that we're.going to use to seal the threads where.the hoses are gonna thread into I see.guys use teflon tape and that is a.tragedy as an accident waiting to happen.because those little pieces of tape can.get off and get pushed through your.system and yeah maybe the strainer will.pick them up but that there's just no.need to you know hope for good luck.use the right stuff that you need to put.it all together and you'll get much more.professional results so all of these.threads are going to be lightly pasted.with the teflon thread sealant and.that'll keep everything from leaking so.I just wanted to throw that in real.quick before I show you what the valve.looks like all made up with the hoses so.be right back.okay folks so the check valve is now all.made up the short lines that you see.here these are going to attach to the.bulkhead and the longer lines that are.running across the floor those are going.to go underneath the machine and connect.to the third function valve let me take.you over to the tractor and show you.what the bulkheads are and where they're.going to connect okay folks so we're.over here at the bulkheads you can see.there's four of them one two three four.the ones with the blue caps are the ones.that we're going to use for the tilt.cylinder and then the ones with the.clear caps are going to be for the top.cylinder so we're only going to worry.about connecting these two today.and then hopefully that'll get our.system up and running at least on the.tilt side so I'm gonna go ahead and feed.that check valve assembly into place and.bolt it down and then now we'll go ahead.and I get to the next step okay folks so.there's the check valve pretty much in.the position that it's going to go I did.drill an extra hole in it because it was.sitting perfectly vertical and I think.it's going to reduce a lot of stress on.the lines if I just put it at a.45-degree angle so I had to drill the.second hole in it so that I could mount.it at a 45 degree angle but that's where.it's at the nuts are just finger tight.on the bolt so I'm going to lay.underneath the tractor and tighten them.down and then route the hoses to where.they're supposed to be and we'll be.right back so I can show you how that.looks and then we'll get the quick.connects connected and the bulkheads.okay so if you see the black line with.the green logos on it you'll see that.the line goes underneath and comes up in.between the front end loader subframe.let's get over here and you can see that.they loop around and tie right in to the.third function valve on the front so.that's how the front goes in I think.what I'm going to do is get some of that.black canvas like hydraulic line.protector I don't know what it's called.that long sleeve and put that onto there.so that were protected where it goes.underneath the floorboards and then.over here you can see where it comes out.of the other side of the check valve and.then goes up in between the ROPS and the.tractor frame to there so if we come.around to here then you can see all we.need to do is to connect them up to the.bulkheads so again I'm going to take.those off and get the quick connects.connected to them and then we'll spin.these spin these on that focus there.spin these on to the back of the.bulkheads and we'll go up to the last.part which would be connecting the.cylinder and tests in the system so.we'll be back in just a few seconds okay.folks as you can see I got it connected.up and thread it in and ready to go so.the next thing to do is going to be to.connect the hoses to the cylinder but.what I want to point out here is you'll.notice that I've put the female coupler.on top and the male coupler on the.bottom and that's that every time I.connect the cylinder I connect the same.hoses to the same place every time that.way when I push the button on the.joystick I push it forward I want it to.be designated to collapse the cylinder.and when I push it backwards I want it.to expand the cylinder so just kind of.the reasoning behind why I did that and.that I did it on purpose so let's get.the cylinder plumbed up let's get the.hoses on that and into place and I'll be.right back okay folks so there's the.finished product the quick couplers are.on the hoses are in everything's done.all the way down to the cylinder and.this is what it looks like.lines are neatly out of the way I don't.know if I'm gonna have to put some kind.of a hook on there to pull this over or.not wait and see when we get the tire.but there we go that's a that's up so.I'm gonna start the tractor up and bleed.the lines out and operate the cylinder a.few times and then we'll we'll come on.back and I'll show you how it works.so I got it rotting.things working fine.so under moves up and down.to turn that part of the hitch but it's.moving a lot faster than I want it to.move I can't really fine-tune this.the way that I want is so what I'm going.to do is I'm going to install a set of.flow restrictors to slow that down and.I'll fill it empty in just a second okay.so here's a set of half-inch flow.restrictors they go right behind the.half-inch quick connectors that are in.the connected to the third function.valve and I don't know if you can see.inside there but maybe if I turn it that.way you can see in the center there's a.tiny little 1/32 inch hole that's.drilled in through there that will.reduce the flow so that that cylinder.can be controlled a lot easier because.it's going to slow the flow so it's.going to slow that Ram from moving back.and forth much much slower and you'd be.able to fine-tune it it won't travel as.fast when you actuate the button so I'm.going to go ahead and take them apart.and put these in and then we'll give it.another look out so I'll be back in just.a few alright so here we are at the end.it's all complete the flow restrictors.are in I got one here and one here you.can see the swivels 1/32 inch piloted.orifice through there so it slows that.hydraulic fluid down low
