How Do You Get City Of Chicago Finance Form and Sign It Instantly?

hi I'm Suzy Park budget director for the.city of Chicago.the Office of Budget and Management is.responsible for preparing and overseeing.the city's budget as well as leading.management initiatives to make the best.use of taxpayer dollars so that we can.provide high quality city services and.programs in 2019 the city of Chicago.budget totaled more than ten point six.seven billion dollars this budget.includes all funds for city services and.programs but does not include the.budgets for city's sister agencies such.as Chicago Public Schools City Colleges.of Chicago Chicago Park District Chicago.Housing Authority and the Chicago.Transit Authority the budgets for each.sister agencies are separate and.distinct with their own revenue sources.and oversight the 10.67 billion dollar.budget is made up of six different kinds.of funds today I am going to focus on.the four primary funds that fund city.services and operations special revenue.funds enterprise funds grant funds and.the corporate fund special revenue funds.are revenues collected from certain.taxes and other sources that by law are.designated to finance specific city.functions some examples include the.vehicle Tax Fund which is primarily made.up of the proceeds of city vehicle.sticker sales funds road repair and.maintenance and the emergency.communications fund that pays for the.city's 9-1-1 operations as well as.modernizing the 9-1-1 system through a.five dollar surcharge on wireless and.landline phones in 2019 special revenue.funds represented approximately eight.hundred and twenty eight million dollars.or more than 7% of the city's total.budget enterprise funds support the.operation and maintenance of the city's.water and sewer systems as well as.O'Hare and Midway International airports.each of these self-supporting enterprise.funds pay expenses with revenue.collected from charges and new.our fees for the services it supports.for example the water and sewer funds.pay for the operation and maintenance of.the water and sewer systems such as the.management of the city's pumping.stations and the sewer main replacement.program at O'Hare and Midway Airport the.airline's pay the amount that is needed.to support operating expenses and debt.service each year in addition to other.rental and concession fees enterprise.funds represented more than 2.7 billion.dollars of the city's budget in 2019 or.approximately 24% of the total budget.the city also receives grant funds from.federal state and local agencies as well.as from private foundations these funds.are designated for specific purposes and.supports city services programs and.capital improvements such as housing.services to persons experiencing.homelessness and road improvements the.city received more than 1.8 billion.dollars in grant funds in 2019 the.fourth fund is the corporate fund or the.city's general operating fund it is the.largest fund and supports basic city.operations in services such as police.and fire Public Health street cleaning.and tree trimming the corporate fund.represented more than 3.8 billion.dollars or more than 34 percent of the.city's total budget in 2019 each year.the city produces the budget forecasts.which projects revenues and expenditures.for the following three years this.forecast.focuses primarily on the corporate Fund.because it accounts for many of the.basic services provided by the city and.has historically experienced the largest.gap between revenues and expenditures.the preliminary revenue and expense.projections presented in the budget.forecast form the gap which is any.structural difference between existing.revenues and anticipated expenses for.the coming budget year the gap is the.baseline projection for which the city.must solve for through the budget.process the city estimates a 2020.corporate fun gap of more than eight.hundred and thirty eight million.this is comprised of several factors.including personnel pension and debt.obligations these costs are offset by.modest revenue growth corporate fund.revenues in 2020 are projected to.increased slightly by fifteen million.dollars totaling three point eight.billion dollars revenue within the.corporate fund is made up primarily from.taxes such as sales tax other non-tax.revenues such as fees and licenses and.intergovernmental taxes like state.collected income tax in terms of.corporate fund expenses personnel costs.consistently represent the largest.portion of the city's corporate fund.budget in 2019 about 80 percent of.corporate fund expenses are for.personnel related costs such as salaries.and wages pensions and healthcare the.2020 projection for these expenses.assumes personnel cost will grow based.on required contractual wage increases.personnel and benefit expenditures are.expected to grow by more than three.hundred and twelve million dollars in.2020 totaling 3.2 billion dollars.additionally over the last several years.the city has been increasingly budgeting.for expenses incurred in connection with.lawsuits and settlements against the.city on the corporate Fund these.expenses are projected to increase by.nearly 90 million dollars in 2020 the.budget forecast also projects that debt.service costs will result in an overall.increase of 98 million dollars pension.contributions are also anticipated to.increase in 2020 by more than two.hundred and seventy seven million.dollars bringing the total to four.hundred and fourteen million dollars on.the corporate Fund alone pensions are an.ongoing financial commitment that a city.must meet so let's talk more about what.is happening with our pension funds the.city contributes to four pension funds.which are constitutionally protected.benefits for most municipal employees.generally while enrolled in a city.pension fund city employees are not.contributing to or accumulating social.security benefits.a person's role within the city.determines which pension fund the.employee is a member of for example a.Chicago police officer is a member of.the policeman's pension fund similar to.retirement plans you may have through.your workplace both the city and its.employees make contributions to their.pension funds in exchange for these.contributions and meeting many other.requirements city employees receive.monthly payments upon retirement these.contributions and the benefits paid are.set in state law and are further.protected by the state constitution.historically the amounts required by the.state to be paid by the city and its.employees were not adjusted to account.for growth in long term expenses.resulting in decreasing funds available.to pay for future retirement benefits.this decrease in funding was made worse.by lost investments resulting from the.recession in the early and late 2000s.this left the pension funds in dire.shape and were projected to be unable to.make payments beginning in the 2020s to.address this crisis between 2011 and.2017 the city worked with the state.legislature to change the state law by.increasing the contributions made by new.employees as well as decreasing the.retirement benefits owed to new.employees additionally these efforts.require the city to increase its annual.contribution to meet the city's.obligations because of these changes the.city's contribution to all four funds.will increase to a mount that more.accurately accounts for expenses so that.the contribution made by the city and.its employees will move the pension.funds towards a more secure future these.new requirements are projected to.increase the city's contribution by nine.hundred and forty million dollars across.all four funds by 2022 this is certainly.a challenge but mere life at and I are.committed to finding practical long-term.solutions to meet these funding.obligations and following through on the.promise made to our city employees.as we work to find solutions and build a.roadmap to a sustainable financial.future we want to make certain that we.are engaging in an open and honest.discussion with the public part of that.engagement process is the 2020 budget.forecasts there you can find more.information on the city's current.financial health the city is currently.undergoing an extensive review of.services and programs to identify.opportunities for savings and.efficiencies while evaluating potential.opportunities for increased revenue to.close the budget gap throughout.September we will be hosting for budget.town halls where you can learn more.about the city's budget process and.provide feedback you can also take our.survey at Chicago gov slash 2020 survey.where you can tell us what information.you'd like to hear more about at the.town house we look forward to working.together with transparency integrity and.determination to put our city on a true.path to financial security.

I was selected for a summer internship 2016. What happens to all of the paper forms you fill out for immigration and customs?

Years ago I worked at document management company. There is cool software that can automate aspects of hand-written forms. We had an airport as a customer - they scanned plenty and (as I said before) this was several years ago... On your airport customs forms, the "boxes" that you 'need' to write on - are basically invisible to the scanner - but are used because then us humans will tend to write neater and clearer which make sit easier to recognize with a computer. Any characters with less than X% accuracy based on a recognition engine are flagged and shown as an image zoomed into the particular character so a human operator can then say "that is an "A". This way, you can rapidly go through most forms and output it to say - an SQL database, complete with link to original image of the form you filled in. If you see "black boxes" at three corners of the document - it is likely set up for scanning (they help to identify and orient the page digitally). If there is a unique barcode on the document somewhere I would theorize there is an even higher likelihood of it being scanned - the document is of enough value to be printed individually which costs more, which means it is likely going to be used on the capture side. (I've noticed in the past in Bahamas and some other Caribbean islands they use these sorts of capture mechanisms, but they have far fewer people entering than the US does everyday) The real answer is: it depends. Depending on each country and its policies and procedures. Generally I would be surprised if they scanned and held onto the paper. In the US, they proably file those for a set period of time then destroy them, perhaps mining them for some data about travellers. In the end, I suspect the "paper-to-data capture" likelihood of customs forms ranges somewhere on a spectrum like this: Third world Customs Guy has paper to show he did his job, paper gets thrown out at end of shift. ------> We keep all the papers! everything is scanned as you pass by customs and unique barcodes identify which flight/gate/area the form was handed out at, so we co-ordinate with cameras in the airport and have captured your image. We also know exactly how much vodka you brought into the country. :)

Do red light tickets go on your record in Illinois?

Illinois does not assess points against your license for violations attested to only by a mechanical device. You only get points if your violation is attested to by a law enforcement officer. The violation does not appear on your driving record and will not affect your insurance rate.
